Description
Growth Leader - UK ConstructionCan you turn market insight, strong relationships, and ambition into sustainable growth?
Are you looking for an opportunity to influence strategy, inspire teams, and make a lasting impact in UK Construction Insurance ?
Construction is a key growth priority for Aon, and we're looking for a leader to help shape the next chapter of our UK Construction practice. Based from our flagship London Office, this hybrid role offers the flexibility to work both virtually and from the office while leading growth across a nationally significant business!
Aon is in the business of better decisions
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.
As an organisation, we are united through trust as one inclusive team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
What the day will look like
- Set the growth strategy. Develop and deliver a practical UK Construction sales plan, with clear priorities by client segment, geography and opportunity type. Use market intelligence, client insight and performance data to test where we can compete and win.
- Lead the growth team. Manage and develop the dedicated construction growth colleagues, with clear responsibilities, objectives and regular coaching. Build effective working relationships with client, broking, claims and specialist teams whose contribution is essential to winning and serving clients.
- Build a credible pipeline. Establish a consistent approach to identifying, qualifying and progressing opportunities. Bring clarity to ownership, next steps, resources and forecasts, and challenge activity that is unlikely to deliver value.
- Win significant opportunities. Personally lead selected strategic prospects and complex pitches, including major construction projects and contractor accounts. Help teams bring together Aon's full range of risk, insurance, claims and advisory capabilities into compelling proposals.
- Connect the practice to the wider business. Work with regional leaders, Heads of Office, client executives, marketing and international colleagues to build relationships and generate opportunities for the construction practice.
- Improve how we go to market. Develop useful sales tools, market propositions and pursuit plans. Share what works across teams, while respecting the distinct systems, processes and governance under which colleagues currently operate.
- Own performance. Report clearly on pipeline quality, conversion, new business revenue and progress against the plan. Use that evidence to adapt priorities and support decisions about investment and resources.
This is an opportunity to shape how a major construction practice grows. You will have the backing of Aon's UK and global expertise, a direct voice in the practice's leadership, and the scope to build a more focused and connected approach to winning work.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Proven success winning sophisticated commercial opportunities, driving growth and developing high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of the UK construction sector, its clients, market dynamics and evolving risk landscape.
- Commercially astute with the ability to identify strategic opportunities and translate them into sustainable business success.
- Confident operating at both a strategic and operational level, from setting direction to leading major client conversations and pursuits.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate and build commitment across teams with varied strengths and subject areas.
- Inspiring and authentic leadership style, with a track record of building trust, setting high standards and enabling others to perform at their very best.
